Founder Christine Van Der Hurd is admired as one of the most creative minds in the industry with Vanderhurd designs preserved as part of the V&A textile archive and commissions from some of the world’s leading designers and architects.

Vanderhurd prides itself on its ability to work as comfortably on smaller bespoke projects as on scaled and iconic commissions, such as the carpeting for Annabel’s. Decorators collaborate with Christine not only to create unique textiles but to shape their most important projects. The rugs and textiles combine an intuitive eye for colour, texture and pattern with an inherent understanding of hand-weaving, printing and embroidery. The team works closely with artisans to develop new techniques, qualities and innovations that allow these ancient processes to evolve into contemporary design.

Vanderhurd continues to thrive on both sides of the Atlantic. The atelier is now on the Portobello Road, a stone’s throw from her father’s antique gallery that served as early inspiration to her in the 1960s and ’70s.
